Interactive Binaural Installation
Description:
Glacier is an interactive binaural („3D Sound“) installation my colleague Florian Schaubmaier and I created as part of a university course. Visitors can interact with the installation by touching and moving each of the three grey layers from left to right (and vice versa). Once a layer is moved, a sound piece is triggered which provides the visitor with information about global glacier melting processes and associated consequences. This interaction-sound-relation is achieved through a bareconductive touch board. The whole installation is made out of wood, cut and engraved with a laser.
